About Michael Butler
I am a senior hotel and sustainability executive with more than twenty-five years leading food and beverage and operational transformation across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. My background includes serving as Corporate Director of F&B for Hyatt in Europe and India, before relocating to Dubai where my work now focuses on VP and COO level leadership that unites profitability, ESG strategy and responsible growth.
My approach is straightforward. I help hotels grow profitably by making sustainability part of the business model, not a cost centre.
As Founder of Captivate, I advise hotel owners, boards and asset managers on improving operational performance, elevating guest experience and embedding sustainably minded practices that hold up commercially. I bring deep operational knowledge across rooms, restaurants and bars, combined with a systems based understanding of environmental performance. I am a trained Lead ISO 14001 Auditor and a Fellow of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals.
In addition to consulting, I have developed AI enabled audit software that improves efficiency, strengthens reporting transparency and accelerates corrective action planning. This helps hotel operators reduce costs and environmental impact at the same time.
